The Edge North

The Edge North is run by Kelly O’Connell (Mike’s first student/teacher and inspiration to his becoming a skills instructor with the Edge). Kelly has been immersed in basketball forever, beginning at the YMCA coed league at age six, starting all four years of Varsity basketball at Mullen High School and ultimately earning a Division 1 scholarship to the University of California Berkeley.

At Mullen Kelly was four-time All State, won two State Championships (including being named the MVP of the State Championship as a sophomore) and became Mullen’s all-time leader in points, assists, steals and three pointers made. Upon graduation she had the second most three-pointers made in state history, and was in the top three in career steals and assists in Colorado.

Due to chronic ankle injuries and multiple surgeries Kelly’s time at Cal was dedicated more to rehab than playing. It was there, watching and studying, where she really became a student of the game rather than the player she had always been.

She has participated with the Edge program teaching basketball skills for six years and after living on both coasts, Kelly is back in Denver and looks forward to taking the lead as the Edge Director in the North metro area.

Through her vast experience, Kelly will use her knowledge and expertise to take any student to the next level in their game.
